WELCOME TO IDBR
Institute for Drug Delivery and Biomedical Research.
IDBR is a DSIR recognized non-profit research organization established in the year 2013, to conduct interdisciplinary and advanced research on innovative drug delivery and novel treatment methods. IDBR strongly intends to bridge the gap between basic sciences and translational research in the area of drug delivery and biomedical sciences.
The research areas focused have a bench to bedside approach and are intended to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from chronic disorders. IDBR aims to discover affordable health care solutions to address unmet medical needs and develop platform technologies that would transform the health of large section of the society.
Message From Honorable Late Dr . APJ Abdul Kalam Ji
Dear, Professor Dr. S . Narasimha Murthy,
Drug delivery research is indeed a great mission.
My best wishes for your success.

Dr. H N Shivakumar has been awarded the Accomplished Alumni Award 2020 for "Meritorious Achievements in Pharmaceutical Science and the Profession" from American Association of Government College of Pharmacy (Bengaluru) Alumni, New York, USA.
Institute for Drug Delivery and Biomedical Research (IDBR), Bangalore, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dayanada Sagar University (DSU), Bangalore. This MoU encompasses collaborative research, student exchange programs, Symposiums and Conferences. As a part of this MoU, IDBR would now offer Ph.D program so that prospective students can register with one of the IDBR faculty members and perform the research work at IDBR for their Ph.D degree. Statutory protocols will be administered by DSU.

Modulation Of Permeability Of Biological Barriers
Biological barriers such as skin, nail, mucous membrane, blood brain barrier etc are meant to protect us from external environment. However, modulation of their permeability nature in a safe and reversible way is often necessary to achieve delivery

Physical Chemistry Of Therapeutic Agents
The therapeutic agents often possesses such physicochemical properties which limit their absorption across the biological membranes. Physical or chemical modification of these agents to impart suitable properties to render them more safe and efficacious is often necessary.

Sensory Research
The sensory research group at IDBR has expertise in assessing the human sensory perception characteristics of the dosage forms. The sensory group includes, Psychologists, Biophysicists, Pharmaceutical scientists and Biotechnologists.
