Dr. S. Narasimha Murthy completed his Ph.D in Pharmaceutics from Bangalore University and he relocated to United States in the year 2002 to pursue his postdoctoral research at the Department of Biophysics, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, NY, USA. Dr. Murthy is a Professor of Pharmaceutics at the University of Mississippi and Research Professor at the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, USA.

Dr. Murthy mentors a dynamic research group consisting of Ph.D students and postdoctoral research associates. His research group focuses on the development of noninvasive drug delivery and diagnostic systems useful in the treatment of chronic disorders. The research programs are funded by USFDA, Pharmaceutical companies and National Institutes of Health. Dr.S. Narasimha Murthy has developed a number of technologies, which eventually were picked up by pharmaceutical companies for commercialization.

Dr.S. Narasimha Murthy has published over 100 research papers in peer reviewed journals. He has edited two books and authored several book chapters. He is the Associate Editor of the journal Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy. He serves on the Editorial Board of Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, AAPS PharmsciTech and seven other journals in pharmaceutical sciences. Dr. Murthy is the recipient of several awards and honors for his research and service. He was awarded the “Global Indus Technovator” award by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, and Cumberland Researcher of the year award from the University of Mississippi. He is recognized as the Best Reviewer by American Pharmacists Association as well as by Elsevier Inc. He has received the young investigator award from the University of Mississippi.

Dr.S. Narasimha Murthy serves as grant proposal reviewer for National Institutes of Health-USA, Department of Innovation- Italy, British Skin Foundation-UK and Government of Portugal. Dr.S. Narasimha Murthy is the Chair of Dermatopharmaceutics Focus group of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist.
